At St. Dominic Savio, we are committed to fostering independence in our children from the moment they join Reception. This journey begins with simple responsibilities, such as organising themselves for the day and changing for PE. Very quickly, children gain confidence by speaking in assemblies, taking the register to the office, and distributing classroom resources. Each year, we build upon these skills so that our pupils grow into strong, independent leaders who understand how to make a positive impact on society and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Our work ensures that children leave St. Dominic Savio fully prepared for the demands of the Secondary school curriculum and life beyond.
Our leadership programme is comprehensive and deeply rooted in pupil voice. We are exceptionally proud of the unique opportunities our school provides, from developing Catholic Life through our Junior Chaplains to encouraging stewardship through our Eco Council.
As Pope Francis reminds us:
"Dear young people, you are not the future but the now of God." (Christus Vivit, 64)
By nurturing leadership and faith, we empower our children to be the heart of the Church today and for generations to come.
