Our Junior Librarians, selected from Year 6, play a crucial role in fostering a love of reading across the school. They are passionate about the value of books and dedicated to helping their peers discover the joy of reading.
What Junior Librarians Do:
- Organising the Library: They take great care in keeping the library well-organised, ensuring books are in the right place and easy to find.
- Recommending Books: They actively suggest new and inspiring titles to fellow students, encouraging them to explore a wide variety of genres and authors.
- Supporting Book Selection: Junior Librarians assist younger children in choosing books that match their interests and reading levels, guiding them in making enjoyable selections.
- Reading to Younger Students: They read aloud to younger children, sharing stories and engaging them in the wonders of reading.
- Leading the Book Club: Our Junior Librarians run a student-led Book Club during lunchtime, where they facilitate discussions, share book reviews, and help develop a lifelong love of reading among younger children.
Our Junior Librarians serve as role models, inspiring others to embrace reading and helping to create a strong reading culture within our school.
