St Dominic Savio Catholic Primary School ‘Serve the Lord with Joy’

Junior Chaplains

Our Junior Chaplains, chosen from Key Stage 2, play a vital role in enriching the spiritual life of our school. Selected through thoughtful letters expressing their desire to live out our Mission Statement,

"Serve the Lord with Joy," these students are role models of faith, joy, and service.

What Junior Chaplains Do:

  • Weekly Meetings: Junior Chaplains meet regularly to plan collective worship, ensuring it is meaningful and reflective of our Catholic ethos.
  • Leading Prayer: They guide prayer and worship across the school, encouraging all students to deepen their relationship with God.
  • Supporting School Worship: Junior Chaplains assist in preparing and leading assemblies, Masses, and liturgies, fostering a spirit of reverence and joy.
  • Role Models: As examples of Gospel values, they inspire their peers through their kindness, respect, and enthusiasm for serving others.

Living Our Mission Statement

Junior Chaplains actively demonstrate the values in our Mission Statement:

We Serve the Lord with Joy through our:

- Joyful Worship

- Joyful Learning

- Joyful Community

Jesus said:

“Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)

We are incredibly proud of our Junior Chaplains. They embody our Catholic ethos and serve as a beacon of light and faith to the entire school community, showing that children have a vital role in developing the life of the Church.
