What to do if your child is ill

Please ensure that you telephone the school office on the first day that your child is unwell, and periodically thereafter to keep us informed.

The absence voicemail system is available from 8.30am, before this time messages may be left on the night time answer phone.

COVID-19 - If your child becomes unwell with a new, persistent cough or a high temperature, or has a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste of smell (anosmia), they must stay at home:

  • Inform the school office as normal and keep ALL children at home.
  • Book a COVID-19 test as soon as possible, self-isolating in the meantime.
  • On receipt of a negative result child may return to school (result will need to be shown to school)
  • On receipt of a positive result, self-isolation to continue for the household as per Government Guidance.
  • If your child is feeling unwell with different symptoms, you must treat these as you normally would.

Sickness and/or diarrhoea

  • Please keep your child at home for 48 hours from the last instance of sickness or diarrhoea.
